We’re great believers in reaping what you sow, therefore we try to be as fair as possible not just with our Returns Policy, but in the way we run our business generally. So if you’ve bought a photo off us and in the unlikely event that there’s something amiss with it (creased/broken/blemished etc.) we’ll be happy to replace it straight away with a big friendly smile on our faces.

However, we can’t replace photos if you’ve inadvertantly ordered in error. The chance of us being able to re-sell a photo of you to someone else once you’ve ordered it and we’ve printed it out and spent money on ink and photographic paper is, frankly, nil. So you’ll appreciate why we can’t refund any orders made in error. If you’re in any doubt, just contact us.

To avoid any issues, we suggest you try the following before ordering:

1 - Decide exactly what photo you want in what format (9x6” print/16x12” canvass etc.)

2 - Decide if the quality of the photo you want to order is to your satisfaction (Is it in focus enough for you? Is everything you want in it? Are you happy with the colours?). Due to the very nature of some fast moving action events like equestrian shows, it’s not always possible to get every single photo pin sharp all the time. And since we shoot in so many different lighting conditions we can’t guarantee that we’ll represent every colour the way you percieve them in every single shot. There are some things we just can’t control, or aren’t worth the effort trying to. For example your horse’s chestnut colour may look different in strong sunshine compared to a cloudy dull day. And your computer monitor will more than likely be calibrated differently to ours and some colours will look different on it. However, we will of course change anything that looks glaringly wrong before we post the images. Plus please feel free to ask us if you’d like us to give it a go and change something that you feel very strongly about in your photo, but please remember we do not offer refunds on photos where accuracy of colour representation is an issue.

3 - We are happy to cover the cost of returns to us if it transpires that the product is genuinely faulty or damaged. Please send any returns back via recorded delivery.

COPYRIGHT: When you buy a photo or other product from Event Photography by Mel Parry you are purchasing a COPY of that photograph which we still retain, not the photo itself. Because we created the photo we still own it even though you may be the subject. Therefore the copyright on every image created by us REMAINS with us, unless categorically specified otherwise in writing to you.

The upshot of this is that if you want to use another version of the photo you’ve bought in any way, such as to give it to a friend, then you must purchase a SECOND copy from us. And if you want to use it on the web, for example on Facebook, you must purchase a WEB image off us, unless you've specifically bought a 'Digital File for Personal Use'.

We only state this because it’s our livelyhood, and if our pictures are exploited in any way, not only would we not be able to pay the mortgage but we wouldn’t be able to stay in business and attend your events, so we’d ALL lose out in the end!

We take this matter very seriously and consider it theft if any of our images are used without permission or are not paid for, and we would be happy to pursue any instance of our image theft through the courts. If we DO see unauthorised use of our images anywhere we invoice the unauthorised use for a minimum of £75 each.

Technically you shouldn’t be able to download any image off this site, but we know there are a few computer geniuses out there hence why we put our copyright watermark on each image. If you BUY the photo however, the watermark will NOT be on your purchased print or item.

OUR LEGAL OBLIGATIONS: Sometimes we’re asked if we’re allowed to photopgraph children in public. We can - there are no restrictions on taking photographs in a public place or on photography of individuals, whether they are adults or minors. Photographic equipment may not be confiscated, or images deleted by any person or official unless a warrant for confiscation is issued. Any attempt without a warrant is considered common assault under UK law.

However we’ll always do our best to accommodate any request from parents or guardians if they’re not happy with their child being photographed, and will delete any photos if asked to do so. See more info here on our Photographing Children Policy.

For your peace of mind and security all representatives of Event Images by Mel Parry are fully CRB checked, and furthermore we have the following ‘Photographing Children Policy’ which we adhere to fervently:

1 On no occasion shall Event Photography by Mel Parry have sole access to children.

2 We shall use only verbal commands for setting-up posed images.

3 If requested, chidren's images on this website can be password-protected. The password will be given to event organizer/club manager at the time of the event or later.

4 The above password will not be given to anyone else. Any requests will be passed on to the event organizer/club manager.

5 Mel Parry Photography will at all times during the event wear an identity badge and be recognizable.

6 No images of children will be sold or given to local or national press without the strict permission of the event organizer.

7 Pictures will only be taken where children are appropriately dressed for their activity.

8 No pictures will be taken of any child should a parent/guardian or child request so - all images already taken of that child will be immediately deleted off the camera.

9 Should a parent/guardian or child request an image be taken off the website, this request will be complied with immediately.

10 No personal details will be accredited to any image.

11 All images on the website will be disabled to prevent unauthorised copying and image manipulation.

12 No member of Event Photography by Mel Parry will drink alcohol, smoke or use inappropriate language in front of children at any event.

13 No photographic or image capturing equipment will be taken into any changing room.

14 All representatives of Event Photography by Mel Parry will have no criminal record.
